School Visits and Observation
We encourage interested parents to visit and observe for about an hour during the morning work period, generally between 9 and 11 a.m. We invite you to observe how the Montessori curriculum is designed to support the developmental stages of the growing child. Request a tour.
Application
The priority deadline for fall 2010 is March 1.
Financial Aid
AMS offers scholarships to families based need and other factors. Additionally, we work with local tuition assistance programs. For more information, please refer to our Financial Aid page.
The Admission Process and Decision
Once the application has been received, we will arrange for your child to meet with one of our teachers. Your child will have a opportunity to explore the classroom, experience some of our materials, and get to know a teacher. The admission decision is based on the teacher's assessment of developmental readiness as well as the parents' willingness to work with the principles of Montessori education.
The Next Step
To accept our offer of admission, a tuition deposit of $750 is due to reserve a space for your child. The first tuition payment will begin June 1. Prior to the time your child starts classes the teacher will conduct a meeting with the parent(s) and the child at the child's home (Toddler and Children's House only) to facilitate a smooth transition to school. New children are phased into the classroom gradually on a schedule that works well for the class, the parent(s) and the child's comfort.
